Push notifications from web hybrid (cordova) app
I have a angular(1)-based webapp, which, I upload to PhoneGap build website (as zip) and use the apk (automatically built) in android phones. (Software used: Angularjs 1.0, JSLinq) is it possible to send 'push notifications' from within the (mobile) app, without using a "server" like Google cloud messaging? The existing functionality is simple - the app, when opened, reads a json file, and when a particular (date) field value is less than current (system) date, highlights the row. The push notification should essentially do the same thing - without app being opened - i.e. at a given time of day (say 10 a.m), should read the json file (stored in localstorage) and alert the user. I have already written all code - only need help with this push notifications. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA
